Native Spring

Things burst into bloom this past couple of weeks. Highlights are the little fleabane, golden alexanders, packera aurea, and of course lonicera sempervirens.

I ordered a trunkload of native plant babies and had a wonderful time putting them in. Now I cross my fingers and hope they do well. I am probably their biggest danger – I have already uprooted a little bluestem, thinking it was a weed. Goose is also a menace, as he loves to dig holes in nice loose dirt and follows my planting with un-planting.
